Knysna Celtic Festival - 18 February 2017

The third Knysna Celtic Festival will be held in the beautiful Garden route town of Knysna on the weekend of Saturday 18 February. The day starts with a Street March past by 10 pipe bands as well as Massed Pipes and drums followed by a Highland gathering. Highlights of the Highland gathering include: pipe band competitions, Highland Irish and Scottish Country Dancing, Highland games with tossing the caber, Archery and Tug-of-War tournaments. The day concludes with the Sundowners Celtic & Bluegrass Concert featuring Blacksmith from Cape Town, renowned International guest stars Finlay Macdonald & Chris Stout from Scotland, singer-harpist Christy-Lyn, Irish Riverdance and the Knysna & Districts Pipe Band. There is also a Food Court and Celtic Pub at this musical extravaganza.

Scottish Country Dancers from Cape Town and the Eastern Cape will be putting on displays both at the ceilidh on the Friday evening and also at the Highland gathering on the Saturday.
